The Five People You Meet In Heaven

In the book The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom takes place at an amusement park and in heaven. recounts the life and death of a simple yet dignified old man Eddie.After dying in a accident Eddie finds himself in heaven and encounters the five people who were in his life even when he didn't realize. As he meets each person they tell him something significant and tells him about his life and gives him advice. The first person he meets is The Blue Man who drank silver nitrate. Him and Eddie were involved in an accident. Eddie retrieved his ball from the street, although he was quite safe and sound, the Blue man wasn't. Eddie had a heart attack when he was driving due to the Blue Man he was not upset and no one was injured. This was when Eddie had learned his first lesson in heaven that everything that we do affects what will happen to another. They have never met before but it dose touch Eddies heart with his advice. The second person he meets is The Captain who Eddie and his fellow men and had spent his life in the military. He told Eddie that he was the one who had shot him in the leg only to save him soon later Captain was killed only to sacrifice. Third Person he meet was Ruby who goes on to tell Eddie about the near-complete destruction of Ruby Pier. Some teenager were drinking and setting of fireworks who were about to set the pier on fire and Ruby trys to stop it. She was sent to the hospital with injuries and was put in the same room with Eddie's dad which realizes that the third lesson is all about forgiveness. The Fourth person he meets is Marguerite who was Eddie's wife and they have known each other since they were at his 17th birthday. It was hard for Eddie when Marguerite had passed away but she tells him that even though she passed away there love was never gone. Eddie had felt as though she had been taken from him too early and that their love was torn to pieces. Last person that he meets touches his heart and realizes all these people have helped him but they have saved the best one for last and that was Tala. She was a little girl inside a burning building when fight the Japanese that's when Eddie had got shot in the leg. He knew there was a little child in the building but his crew didn't and they saved his life by doing that but they also killed a little girl cause they didn't believe him. Tala had forgiven Eddie she tells him to "wash" her of the burns. When he rubbed a wet rock up and down on her burns they had all disappeared and Tala then tells Eddie that he kept children safe from harm. 194 pages

Tuesdays with Morrie

This novel called Tuesdays with Morrie teaches a young man a great life lesson. Morrie who was Mitch's sociology teacher at Brandeis and he was his teacher till he graduated taught Mitch valuable lessons and still teaches him. Morrie was upset that he was leaving so Mitch made a promise to keep in touch but that never happened because Mitch was so into work that he didn't have time with family and friends. Morrie is dying of ALS, a disease which ravages his body. Mitch seen Morrie on TV helping people with there problems and also realizes that he is suffering of a deathly illness and soon will die. So Mitch decides to make an appointment with him and he hasn't seen him in sixteen years. Mitch gets all nervous and trys to delay he greeting with him but he will soon have to face him and talk about his problems. They soon meet frequently every Tuesday and as Mitch visits him he sees that Morrie is slowly getting worse but there is nothing he can do he just has to watch him suffer everyday. Morrie taught him good lessons about life and told him not to waste his life working. He would bring a recorder to record Morrie's voice so when he pasted away he could always listen to them forever and know how to deal with him life and he can listen to Morrie's advice. Soon Morrie becomes very ill that he cant be able to see anyone but he insits that he can only see Mitch before he passes away. Soon Morrie passes and they still have there regular meetings just not at Morrie's house but in Mitch's head and takes Morrie's helpful advice and he gets his life figure out.192 pages

Ninteen Minutes

The book Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult is takes place in a high school shooting that only takes the student nineteen minutes to kill all the people he hated. Peter Houghton has endured years of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of classmates. Even those who were not inside the school that morning find their lives in a struggle of the ones that have been killed. Josie who was his best friend had drifted away from him as she hung out with the popular group and got a boyfriend who they all made fun of Peter. Everyone was hurt and had a struggle to get there life back together but not as bad as Josie because she had seen the whole shooting and had to suffer from it. Everyone thought it was Peters fault which it was but they don't realize who had killed Josie's boyfriend and it wasn't Peter. Accidents can happen when you want to save the ones who you really love and Josie gets taught in this novel. Not only does Peter get put in jail but someone who you would never expect is in jail to just for two shots of a gun and killing the love one you sacrifice for. It takes several lies and investigation to try and get the real story. 455 pages

The Glass Castle


In the book The Glass Castle the setting takes place in many differnet places from Arizona to Los Vegas. This family is different in many ways but they don't like to be told they are different.It starts off with a three year old making hot dogs and burs her self severely. She is taken to the hospital but her parents are different they do not like her in the hosptial even though she is hurt. So her dad takes her before she is evn released. That night her father Rex tells the family to pack up all there things that they need and to hope into the car. The family vaires from place to place and her father also varies in jobs. They are bullied at school and at home because they are differnt and they are not wealthy. They live in homes that don't have electrcity, a bathroom and they don't even have beds to sleep. The children Lori, Jeannette,Brian, and Morreen have to sleep in card board boxs and sometimes they have to starve and search through garbages. Eventally they settle in a place called Battle Mountain. They live in a rented home where is falls apart. Jeannette and Brian go to a school near by where they have to search through the grabages just to have a lunch. Rex gets a job at a barite mine and there mother as a teacher. They soon loose there jobs so the children have to get jobs for themselves. 288 pages

Flowers in the Attic


In the book Flowers in the Attic by V.C Andrews is a scary but very exciting book it takes place in an attic with four children but in the end there is three. They are living a happy life until there father had died and they moved to there grandmothers house. The children are not loved like any other children only because there mother had made a very bad mistake when she chose he husband. They get put up in the attic but the mother gets to stay in her room when she was a little girl. They are locked up all day and they are not allowed to look out the window and they get there meals taken up to them only because the grandfather who is deathly sick does not know these children exist. If he knew they did he would kill then just cause of the little mistake. The children are up there for months and soon as they are planning to escape a tragic event happens. They don't all loose there energy but there mother doesn't visit them anymore and she would be the one not to forget to visit the children. This event makes the children want to leave even more and start to live on there own so as it hits the right time to escape and they do and they just run for there lives and will never forgive the ones that lived in the house. 411 pages
